On May 18, 2016 at the Town of Leesburg Annual Business Awards Ceremony, the Leesburg Garden Club was awarded the Environmental Award for the Native Tree Walk. The Environmental Award celebrates a business or organization that leads or participates in activites that benefit the environment through its business practices and policies. These businesses/organizations demonstrate the lasting benefit of an environmental program, promotion or event that has had a positive impact of the "green" nature of Leesburg.

On April 6, trees which had suffered problems were replaced and some new trees donated by the Garden Study Club were added. Susan and Rachael oversaw the plantings.
